Sculptures of Neolithic Animals The gorilla busts pictured above ask an interesting question. When and how did the indigenous Neolithic Americans see a gorilla or its image? The view that ancient mariners did not posses the necessary skills to navigate the oceans as well as seaman of the fifteenth century is rather narrow-minded. The real question should be, how often was external contact made by seafaring explorers or traders with Neolithic Americans?
